Scavenger Hunts

A low-contact activity perfect for practicing social distancing during COVID-19.

Usually a Providence Tour Company guide will tell you about the storied history of Providence- now it's up to you to find it! In response to COVID-19, the Providence Tour Company has adapted to create a contest that will have you and your friends uncovering the city's secrets. Now you can explore Providence, solve exciting riddles, and test your local history chops all while practicing state guidance on social distancing.

Here's how it works:

1. At the scheduled time, regardless of where you are, registered teams will receive 5 riddles via email. Each riddle will hint towards a specific Providence landmark.

2. Teams must decipher two things from each riddle: one, what or who is the riddle hinting towards, and two, where in the city is this person or thing represented?

3. Send in team selfies with the 5 correct landmarks to win the hunt!

Here are the details:

  • Google, Wikipedia, and any other helpful sites are totally allowed!

  • Teams can choose between a timed, competitive style, or an untimed leisure style. Leisure hunts can be scheduled whenever works best for the team.

  • Expected completion time is between 2 and 2.5 hours, depending on how fast riddles are solved.

  • Up to four (4) individuals can be on a team.

  • All landmarks are within Providence city limits.

  • If you get frustrated, give Bradly a call at (973) 997-0726: fun is the #1 priority!

  • Call Bradly at (973) 997-0726 if you have any concerns or questions!
