Where do tours meet?

Tours meet at various locations throughout the city. Check each tour's information page or your confirmation email for specific addresses. Contact Bradly at any time for specific information.

How long are the tours?

Each tour has its own length, but most tours are about 2 hours. Check each tour page for more information.

Are tours "rain or shine"?

They are indeed! We are intrepid historians.

What should I wear/bring?

Whatever will make you most comfortable. Sneakers definitely for easy walking, maybe a pair of sunglasses and a hat, a water bottle on a hot day, a sweatshirt on a cool one, and an adventurous attitude!

Where can I park?

Each tour has a different parking area. For the Welcome to Providence Tour, bear in mind that street parking is free on Sundays in Providence. For the Rhode Island Convention Center is the most convenient; the address is 1 Sabin Street. For information about directions, click here. For additional and more affordable parking, the Providence Place Mall is also a nearby option. The address is 1 Providence Place; for directions, click here

For the Turmoil in Providence Tour, there is limited parking available at the Roger Williams National Memorial and street parking along North Main Street and Canal Street. For guaranteed parking, the Providence Place Mall is just a ten minute walk away at 1 Providence Place. For information about directions, click here

For the Providence by the Book tour, there is ample free street parking in the College Hill neighborhood surrounding Prospect Terrace Park.

Are there bathrooms available?

Bathrooms are available at the beginning of both the Welcome to Providence Tour and the Turmoil in Providence Tour, but not the Providence by the Book Tour. Please make the necessary arrangements before departing for the Providence by the Book Tour.

Are tours okay for children?

Absolutely!

Can I bring my dog on the tour?

While Fido may have to stay out of some public buildings, bringing him is permitted and will not significantly change your experience.

What happens if I need to cancel?

Providence Tour Company has a 24 hour cancellation policy. If you cancel more than a full day before the tour, you are entitled to a full refund; if you cancel with less than 24 hours before the tour, you must forfeit your ticket fee.

What if I'm running late?

You may call Bradly's cell phone at (973) 997-0726, but because he is often in the process of helping guests. The tour can wait on late guests up to five minutes before departing.

Do you offer private tours?
