After Dark Tours

After Dark Tours of Providence

When the sun goes down, Providence reveals a darker side of its history. Our After Dark Tours explore haunted legends, literary mysteries, true crime, and hidden stories that feel even more chilling beneath the city lights.

Best for Spook Seekers

The eerie writings of H.P. Lovecraft—one of the most significant supernatural horror fiction authors of the 20th century—are inexplicably bound to his hometown of Providence, a city that also inspired the macabre works of Edgar Allan Poe.

Best for Spook Seekers

Real Ghosts of Providence isn’t your average ghost tour. Guided by locals, you’ll uncover chilling true stories of murder, mystery, and history—like the Black Duck Incident, John Gordon’s trial, and whispers of satanic rituals—rooted in authentic records and haunting the city still.

AFTER DARK TOUR FAQs

Yes – all of the stories featured on our tours are rooted in real, documented history. While some tours explore paranormal legends, local folklore, or reported ghostly experiences, the people, places, crimes, and historical events we discuss are all based on genuine Providence history.

Some tours may be suitable for older children and teens, but many include mature themes such as death, crime, violence, or paranormal content. We recommend reviewing individual tour descriptions before booking.

Comfortable walking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, and a fully charged phone for photos are always a good idea. For our Real Ghosts of Providence tour, we recommend bringing a flashlight.

Tours are rain or shine! Only in dangerous weather conditions will a tour be cancelled. A tour guide will reach out to you the morning of the tour to let you know if a tour is cancelled- if you have not been contacted, assume the tour is proceeding as scheduled.
