Mystery Beer Tour, you’ll visit three of Providence’s top craft breweries, enjoying a curated flight
at each stop as you travel through the city in our comfortable tour van. The Providence beer
scene is excellent and rapidly growing, making for an incredible tasting journey.
But here’s where things get interesting: you don’t just go to the breweries, you have to uncover
them. Through interactive puzzles and games, you and your group will solve clues that reveal
your next destination. Each challenge moves the story forward and keeps the experience fun
and immersive.
At the center of it all is a real 19th-century Rhode Island murder case. You’ll step into the
mystery of Josephine Barnaby, a wealthy widow, poisoned in what became known as the first
murder by mail in U.S. history. As you piece together evidence, interrogate suspects, and follow
the twists of the case, you’ll work to uncover the truth, and finally answer the question: who did
it?

Tours are rain or shine! This tour is a van tour with minimal outdoor time between each stop. Only in dangerous weather conditions will a tour be canceled. A tour guide will reach out to you the morning of the tour to let you know if a tour is canceled- if you have not been contacted, assume the tour is proceeding as scheduled.
Guests should wear comfortable clothes and wear weather-appropriate attire.
The Providence Marriott has a parking lot. You do not need to pay to park, unless you are staying overnight at the Marriott.
Yes! There will be bathrooms available at our three brewery locations.
We love giving tours to private groups- we find that some of the best bonding experiences happen when a group is learning something new together, or sharing a family-style meal.
There are incentives for groups of 10 or above, and we can customize tours to make them more suitable for your group’s budget or timeline. Please send us a message to learn more about group tour options and pricing, or cut straight to the chase and request a private tour.
Tour guide tips are not included in the tour price, but are appreciated when a guide exceeds your expectations. A generous tip is anywhere between $5-10 per guest.
Tours can be canceled for any reason up to seven days after purchase.
The Providence Tour Company also offers trip protection, which allows guests to cancel up 48 hours before the tour is to begin. The fee for trip protection is a flat 10% of the ticket price.
